The Hamvention in Dayton is on again and WA5KUB‘s webcam is live!
Also this year Tom, WA5KUB can drop in his pricedraw during his live webcam transmissions on the internet. You participate in the pricedraw when you have logged in on the chatroom on the site and stay listening (or reading) in the background. (I know now)
Today (Friday Mai 14, 2010) I had a day of from the office and tuned in on the webcast. Not being in Dayton this year, I wanted to see what was going on to have some memories back from 2007 when I visited the Hamvention with my dad PA3ABH.
Suddenly my call was mentioned and people calling for me in the chatroom….. what’s up !?
Apparently I won a price! Lucky me. The drawn price happens to be a Heil Handi Mic. Great stuff. I just needed one for my new Flex 1500 SDR transceiver! Just add a cable and start transmitting I would say.
I will have to wait now for 2 parcels to arrive at my doorstep. Thanks to Bob Heil and Tom, WA5KUB.

Ps: here you can verify this story. (9th mentioned price winner)
UPDATE (20 juli 2010) :
The parcel has arrived today.
Note: The Flex-1500 arrived a couple of weeks ago and is operational already for some time. See my blog: on the first experiences here: http://pa3ang.nl/wp/archives/2064
The Heil Handi Mic is a HM-4 (DX Dream Machine) and was delivered complete with Kenwood cable assembly, windcap and two mounts. Next step is to get a RJ45 <> 4pin XLR cable to connect the Handi Mic to the Flex-1500.
The configuration with the Kenwood cable does seamless work on my Elecraft K2! So I’am a happy guy with the price I won!
